Dried or Cured Meats

Shooting in at the top of the list of Keto snacks is dried and cured meats; from straight up bacon bits to jerky, biltong, and pepperoni, dried meat is an ideal low carb snack. Aside from the big flavor payoff, a stick of jerky or an airtight pack of bacon will travel with you for miles, maybe even weeks. Just be sure to invest in quality dried meats with no hidden sugar, carbs, or hormones.

Here are some pre-packaged jerky suggestions to kickstart your journey:

While cheese may not be the first thing you think to grab before you run out the door; consider that cheese typically has zero carbs, is high in fat, and did we mention – delicious! Cheese is an instant fat bomb that can curb hunger cravings and contains linoleic acid, which is a fat that has been linked to fat loss and improvements in body composition.

Here are some travel-friendly cheeses:

Nui Cookies

Not to toot our own horn, but the reason Nui was created was to fill the void of Keto snacks in the mainstream market; we wanted to create a delicious, high fat, low carb option for people who love food makes with real ingredients like grass-fed butter and coconut oil. Nui cookies are perfect for traveling with and feature a foil-lined pouch to lock in that extra freshness.

Fat Coffee

Who says you can’t have more than one breakfast in a day? Fat coffee (black coffee made with grass-fed butter or MCT oil) is a nutrient dense – and delicious - energy drink that can get you between meals. Better yet, you can order black coffee from most restaurants and cafes – even gas stations – and add butter, making this one of the easiest and most inexpensive Keto snacks out there.

  • Tamara – there are 2 NET grams of carbs per package. Sugar alcohols are half the calories of regular sugars and slower absorption, there is a minimal impact on blood sugar and insulin response. Because of this, sugar alcohols don’t significantly interfere with fat burning and are subtracted from carb count, along with fiber which your body does not absorb.
