Did you know the average child eats a whopping 675g of sugar on Halloween alone? That's equivalent to 675 Nui cookies. Wowzers!
According to Donna Arnett, head of the department of epidemiology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Public Health, the average Halloween candy haul contains between 3,500 and 7,000 calories.
Or to put it another way: 1 pillowcase-full can contain as many as 1,600 pieces of candy.
Arnett noted that it would take the average child 44 hours of exercise to burn off that much sugar. Not to mention the health complications.
Swapping traditional candy for a soft and chewy Nui cookie or 3 keeps things fun and festive, without your little monsters even suspecting they're eating something that would make mom proud.
They'll just think it's junk food... And so will you.
